Terms of Use
Last updated: October 23, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Dalo Labs ApS, Ben Websters Vej 70, 4. th, 2450 København SV, Denmark, CVR DK46555058 (“we”, “us”), for the Kicks & Contractions app (in the stores: “My Contractions & Kicks Timer”). By creating an account you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
1. What the app is
Kicks & Contractions helps you time contractions, count your baby's movements, follow your pregnancy week by week, keep a hospital-bag checklist, write a birth plan, log how you feel, your drinks and your next appointment, share a summary with your provider, and read guides based on public health sources. After the birth it has a page for the first days.
2. Not medical advice
The app is not a medical device and doesn't give medical advice. It doesn't diagnose, it doesn't tell you what stage of labor you're in, and it never replaces your midwife, doctor or maternity unit.
- A message that your contractions match the rule you entered is a reminder of your provider's own instructions, nothing more. The app doesn't choose or recommend a rule.
- A kick count is a record, not a verdict. The app never tells you your baby is fine.
- Guides and week cards summarise the sources listed with them, as of when they were written. Guidance changes, and your provider's advice comes first.
- The 3D baby is an illustration, not your baby.
If your baby is moving less than usual, if you are bleeding, if your water breaks, or if anything worries you, contact your midwife, doctor or maternity unit straight away; don't wait for the app or an appointment. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
3. Your account
You need an account to use the app, and you must be 18 or over. Give accurate information and keep your sign-in secure; you're responsible for what happens under your account. Your records sync to your account so you can use them on more than one device.
4. Subscriptions and payments
- After you set up the app, using it requires a subscription. The plans, their prices, any free trial and the billing period are shown before you buy.
- Payment is taken by the App Store or Google Play, under their terms. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in your store account settings.
- If you start a free trial and don't cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the subscription starts and you are charged.
- You can restore a purchase in the app (Settings → Restore purchases) and manage or cancel it in your store account (Settings → Manage subscription). Deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their rules. If you're a consumer in the EU/EEA, this doesn't affect your statutory rights.
- “Sneak a peek” gives 24 hours of full access, once per account, without a purchase. If you're timing contractions when it runs out, it lasts until that session ends, up to 48 hours in all.
- We may change prices for future billing periods. The store tells you before a new price applies, and you can cancel before it does.
5. The Ask chat (AI)
The Ask chat is optional and works only after you agree to it in the app. Its answers are generated by an AI model and can be incomplete or wrong. They are general information, not advice about your care. Don't use the chat for emergencies or decisions about when to go in; follow your provider's instructions. You can turn AI off at any time in Settings → AI.
6. Using the app
Use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use. Don't:
- copy, reverse engineer or modify the app, except where the law allows it;
- interfere with the app or our servers, or try to reach data that isn't yours;
- use the app to break the law or to harm anyone;
- resell or share your subscription.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the app available, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. The timers and records work offline and sync when you're back online. We may change, add or remove features to improve the app or to follow the law or store rules; if a change takes away something central to your subscription, we'll tell you in the app.
8. Content and intellectual property
The app, its design, text, guides, illustrations and 3D models belong to Dalo Labs ApS or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app while your account exists. What you record is yours; you give us the right to store and process it only to provide the app to you, as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Ending your account
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. This deletes your data as described in the Privacy Policy; remember to cancel your subscription in your store account too. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law prevents it.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent the law allows, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind beyond those the law requires. We don't promise that its content is complete or right for your situation.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made on the basis of the app instead of professional medical advice. Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim and EUR 100.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under mandatory Danish or EU consumer law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Governing law and disputes
Danish law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you're a consumer in the EU/EEA, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and you can bring proceedings in your home courts. Please write to us first so we can try to resolve things informally within 30 days; otherwise disputes go to the competent courts of Denmark.
13. General
If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a right straight away, we haven't given it up. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them to a company that takes over the app, without reducing your rights. The App Store and Google Play are not parties to these terms and aren't responsible for the app, but Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We change the date at the top, and if a change matters we tell you in the app before it applies. If you don't agree, you can stop using the app and delete your account.
